Kiwanis Family Committee

What we do

kfamThe Kiwanis Family committee is responsible for maintaining a strong relationship with our fellow Kiwanis Family members. We associate with Santa Monica, Culver City, and Fairfax Kiwanis, CAYP Kiwanis, and Playa Del Ray K-kids. We also work with many Circle K clubs, Key Clubs and KIWIN'S! Our duty is to attend the other clubs' meetings, participate in joint service projects and socials, and of course, network and connect with them. We pride ourselves in finding opportunities to bolster our club's 3 tenets and expand our communication beyond our campus. If you want to be involved with something that is greater than our club, join our committee today!

How to get involved

The first way to get involved is to come out to our committee meetings! This is a great way to get up to speed with our upcoming meetings and events. Also, you should definitely go to the other clubs' meetings and events – this is the best way to meet and befriend anyone from a K-kid to a Kiwanian. Furthermore, expanding your network and connections beyond our club may provide you resources for the future. Because Kiwanis Family has a club for all age levels, there is something for everyone! No matter how you get involved with Kiwanis Family, I assure you that it will be a rewarding experience!

The branches of Kiwanis Family

Because there are so many branches of Kiwanis Family, it can be confusing to remember each one. Here is a brief reference to help you out!

Kiwanis is our sponsoring parent organization, which is made up of professional women and men. Kiwanis Clubs may sponsor or found any of the branches of the Kiwanis Family within their club's jurisdiction. The adults around the world help the communities in countless ways because they know that members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

CAYP (The California Young Professionals of Kiwanis) is a special Kiwanis group that caters to adults who are developing their careers, recent college graduates, traveling, or still going to school. Even though these young adults have busy lives, they still maintain a strong desire to serve the community.

Aktion Club allows those living with disabilities to participate in community service projects, gain leadership skills, and become more involved in society.

Circle K International (CKI), the largest university service leadership organization in the world, performs half a million hours of service each year. With more than 12,600 members in 17 nations, CKI is making a positive impact on the world every day.

Key Club is the oldest and largest service leadership organization for teens, teaches leadership through service to others. Key Club's 250,000 members build themselves as they build their schools and communities.

Builders Club, with more than 42,000 adolescent members, provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, improve self-esteem, increase civic engagement and learn life skills through service.

K-kids (Kiwanis Kids), with more than 33,000 members, is a service leadership program for primary school students. K-kids provides students with opportunities to work together on service projects, develop leadership potential and create strong moral character.
