Our Club

UCLA Circle K is a collegiate service based organization dedicated towards serving the community, encouraging member leadership, and fostering amazing friendships. Our club offers multiple service opportunities, with a service project practically every day as well as multiple opportunities to get to know new people and bond with people you already know! Usually, we meet every Thursday in Moore 100at 6:00PM (Updated as of Fall Quarter 2011), so we hope to see you there!

So what's so special about UCLA Circle K?

According to Andrew Chin, our 2005-2006 Secretary:

Circle K is more than just a community service organization ... it is a community within itself. This organization offers what many cannot. Our service opportunities bring members out to campus and beyond, giving help to those who need it. Our leadership opportunities bring advice from professionals and peers alike as well as allow all members to assume a variety of roles. Our fellowship opportunities bring members together not just with people inside the club, but with the campus community as well as the division, the district, and our international clubs.
Every year, we are challenged to up the ante and expand our role beyond any definition. We actively seek to help where it is needed the most. We make our club stronger, better, and forge into a character of its own. And every year ... we deliver.
A club lives and dies by its members, a fact that is evidenced by our own history, for better or for worse. It is up to each member to decide in what capacity he or she is willing to contribute, whether it be serving on a committee, writing CERFs (event report forms), or running the whole club itself. No person's contribution is "too small". No person's effort is unrecognized. All we ask is that you go with what you believe, and let your actions speak for themselves.

Moreover, UCLA Circle K is one of the most distinguished Circle K chapters internationally! Ever since its founding in 1974, UCLA Circle K has grown into a thriving organization, boasting a fairly large membership, thousands of service hours, meaningful leadership opportunities, multiple awards and distinguishments, and of course amazing memories and friendships! Here are some useful statistics from the previous year (2010-2011):

Total Dues Paid members: TBA
Total Service Hours: TBA
District Convention Awards (2011):

UCLA Circle K at District Convention 2011

District Convention Awards (2010):

International Convention Awards (2012):

International Convention Awards (2009):

As you can see, UCLA Circle K is one of the most distinguished collegiate service organizations worldwide! Much more importantly, however, none of this would be possible without our wonderful members who dedicate countless hours and determination towards serving the community and leaving a positive impact on this world and on each other. Without them, our club would not be the amazing organization that it is.

Meet TurKey, Our Mascot!

Meet TurKey, our lovable club mascot. He is a Turtle and a Monkey conjoined at the head, representing the idea of putting two minds together to get things done more efficiently and effectively. At every weekly general meeting, we recognize our outstanding member of the week and he or she will get the opportunity to spend a week with TurKey.

Our Division - Metro

The Metro division is one of 8 divisions within our Cal-Nev-Ha district. Encompassing the greater Los Angeles-Long Beach area, it includes CSU Long Beach, El Camino College, USC, CSU Dominguez Hills, and our very own UCLA. Living in such a diverse and expansive community, there's no end to the amount of projects that our division has participated in. From beach clean ups to food banks, to working with the homeless and underserved schools, the 5 amazing clubs within our division have been able to make a consistent and sizable difference within our region.

Each division has a Lieutenant Governor that works to help bring the clubs together and grow. The 2011-2012 Lieutenant Governor for Metro Division is JonJon Junpradub from UCLA!

Our District - California-Nevada-Hawaii (or just CNH)

Circle K International is broken down into smaller components called districts. UCLA Circle K is part of the California-Nevada-Hawaii district, known as Cal-Nev-Ha for short. Encompassing everything from the beautiful beaches of Hawaii to the bright lights of Las Vegas, the California-Nevada-Hawaii District spans over 2700 miles and is the largest district in Circle K International. With over 40 clubs and more than 1,000 members spanning these three states, it is easy to meet new friends and interesting people in Cal-Nev-Ha. The first Circle K club was founded in 1947, and the California-Nevada-Hawaii District was one of the two founding Districts of Circle K International, along with the Michigan District. California-Nevada-Hawaii was instrumental in the internationalization of the organization. Chartered on December 12, 1957, the district was founded with thirty-one clubs and has grown to over forty clubs at the present.

The District Executive Board is comprised of a Governor, Secretary, and Treasurer who are elected each year at District Convention. The 2011-2012 District Governor of Cal-Nev-Ha is Brett Butler from California State University, Long Beach in the Metro Division!
