HEAL THE BAY
After the first real rain shower of the season, the beaches became bombarded with trash. Because of the rain, much of the trash emptied into the ocean through storm drains. So on October 14, a little over a dozen UCLA Circle K members joined together to help take part in healing the Earth from urban waste. The simple fact that there was so much to clean up made this event worthwhile. We soon ended up filling up bags after bags of trash and we really saw benefits of our efforts.
We ended up meeting with other clean beach enthusiasts that were also working for Heal the Bay. And after a few hours of cleaning, we took a short stroll around 3 rd Street Promenade and ended the day with a bit of shopping.This was a very successful event, because not only did we do Earth a favor by cleaning its beaches, but we also got tospend some time getting to know the new members of our club.
